Time of year: January
Gym Status: All the cardio machines are full up
Chances are that if you go to any gym in your area you will see this same situation.
Perhaps you are guilty of doing the same.
After not doing activity for some lengthy period of time, you have decided to give it a go again.
To make that drive in rush hour to the gym and say hello to all those faces you used to know.
Once changed, you head over to the treadmill, or the cross trainer or the bike and get it started up, procedding to then do 20-30 minutes and then swap over again to another machine…..if it’s free.
This is the habit of the insane!
Why?
Well, I know I’ve made alot of assumptions here but I’m more than confident that I’ve described more than a few thousand people.
Let me ask this.
What did you do next…in February, March, April?
Did you get the results you hoped for on New Years Eve when you decided to give it another crack?
Take your mind back 12 months.
What did you do then?
Chances are, the same…..and you got the same outcome.
Little if any results and you decided to quit.
I don’t blame you!
Why continue to persevere with something that is not working.
That’s what makes it insane to try it again
And again
And again.
That is the definition of insanity.
To do the same actions over and over again and expect different results.
So this year why not try a different approach and stay away from the herds that head for the CV equipment (or put on there trainers and go for a jog around the park for that matter)
If you want to lose weight, to melt off the wobbly bits and get lean and sexy….
….try something different!
Pick the right tool for the job, the right method and system and crank your metabolism up.
Use weights, you own bodyweight, use speed, make it short, intense and challenging and see how you’ll be different from the insane.
I’m just starting with a new bloke who has done exactly this more than once over the last 2 years. He is going to get the shock of his life…..
….A POSITIVE RESULT!
